Dr. Mitch & Mrs. Chrissy Finnie
Mitch and Chrissy Finnie both grew up in San Antonio and were both parishioners of St. Matthew Catholic Church as children. However, college and medical school took Mitch to other cities, and thus, it wasn’t until they were both adults did they eventually meet and marry a year later in 2008. In 2001 Mitch opened his own medical practice and continues his work there to this day. In 2011, Chrissy agreed to resign from teaching and take over the bookkeeping of owning a practice. In 2014, via adoption, they welcomed home their first child, Simon Joseph. The joys of parenthood also brought the adoptions of two more children, Veronica Nicole and Bridget Marie. Simon is currently 12 and Bridget is 8. Veronica remains their forever 2 yr old and is the namesake of Veronica’s Boutique, a Catholic Charities Program for mothers and children. Both Simon and Bridget attend St. Matthew Catholic School as a 7th and 3rd grader, respectively.
It was during their courtship that Mitch and Chrissy attended one of the first fundraising events for Hope for The Future. In 2009, they attended the very first Khaki and Plaid! As they approach 18 years of marriage, their faith and giving back to the church has been their top priority. Mitch, an ex- board president of Catholic Charities, continues serving on the Health Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus of St. Matthew. Chrissy currently serves as a member of the Archdiocesan School Council, a Board Member of Hope for the Future, a Catholic Daughter of St. Matthew and most recently, a core adult leader of The Edge middle school program at St. Matthew Catholic Church.
